CARLOS THOMAS has 25 years of experience in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors helping organizations develop and strengthen their analytics operations. Most recently, he was director of strategic engagement at Southern University in Baton Rouge. Prior to that, Carlos worked with the Louisiana Recovery Corps, where he helped lead technical and analytical efforts to repatriate residents displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Carlos has taught technology and analytics courses at Louisiana State University, Southern University, and the University of Southern California. He holds a PhD and MS in information systems and decision sciences from LSU and a PhD in public administration from Tennessee State University. He also has an MA in sociology from the University of Memphis and a BS from Vanderbilt University.
To ensure that children and families receive the child support payments they’re entitled to, the County of Los Angeles Child Support Services Department uses predictive analytics to anticipate potential gaps and challenges based on demographic data.
