Prior to her FUSE fellowship in 2013, Rebecca Foster (2013-14) worked as an investment banker in the Public Sector & Infrastructure group at Goldman Sachs. She worked in the New York and San Francisco offices raising capital for city and state governments, universities, non-profits, and utilities. Rebecca’s experience ranged from managing multi-billion dollar debt offerings to prepare Florida for hurricanes to leading financings for unemployment insurance deficits post-recession for Idaho and Colorado. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Rebecca worked in urban development consulting at HR&A Advisors, at the White House Office of Management and Budget, and as a river guide.
After her fellowship, Rebecca continued to serve Mayor Ed Lee for two years as the Director of Social Impact Investment. Rebecca now serves as Executive Director of the San Francisco Housing Accelerator Fund, an innovative new public-private partnership that provides San Francisco with powerful new tools for producing additional affordable housing.
Rebecca received her BA with honors from Brown and her MBA from Stanford.
