Coordinating Social Services to Reduce Recidivism
To help justice-involved people get the social services they need while on probation, the L.A. County Probation Department is working to improve coordination of and access to a complex system of re-entry resources with the county’s Office of Diversion and Reentry.
The department enlisted Barry Goldberg to help spearhead the collaboration and coordinate systems, processes, and communication across various county programs. In addition, Barry will help inform the design and content of a daylong reentry symposium, which will convene up to 1,000 stakeholders from across sectors to take on the challenges of streamlining services. These efforts will reduce the likelihood of recidivism by strengthening the county’s ability to deliver supportive services to individuals seeking a fresh start.
