Designing a Strategy to Modernize the City’s Fleet
The City of New Orleans is eager to overhaul the management of its fleet system, revamping the system and creating a shared vehicle pool that will help increase fuel efficiency, save money, increase fleet use, and avoid misuse.
FUSE Fellow Monica Soileau will work to evaluate current practices and create a detailed roadmap for modernizing both the vehicles in the fleet and the management practices of the fleet. The plan will outline the steps for implementation, identify needed resources, outline additional budgetary requests and asset allocations, and present a timeline that ensures success.
A successful plan will enable the city to promote efficient use of city vehicles, increase public safety, and generate cost savings that can be re-invested in fleet modernization strategies.
