Enhancing Park Services Through Grants

To expand park and recreational space in low-income neighborhoods, the county will pilot a technical assistance program as a means to ensure that low-income neighborhoods with limited access to green space can compete for and benefit from new funding.

FUSE executive fellow Jack Sahl will roll out the program by engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, including nonprofits and local businesses, to assess technical needs that will help communities compete for funds. Based on this feedback, he will develop appropriate resources and determine the most effective modes of delivery. If successful, this pilot will establish a roadmap for future parkland acquisition and development and, ultimately, improve quality of life for the county’s most vulnerable residents.
