Transforming Transportation Technology for Communities

Minneapolis is working to leverage advances in transportation technology that could impact related policies, plans, and services. To do this, the city needs to understand how to identify, evaluate, and employ these potentially transformative technologies that could improve pedestrian safety, address limitations to getting around the city, and build resilience to climate-related events.

FUSE executive fellow Danielle Elkins will help Minneapolis determine how best to integrate technology into its 10-year plan, and develop training for city staff, elected officials, and community stakeholders to learn about new transportation modes and technologies. Additionally, Danielle will forge relationships with private-sector partners to plan and implement pilot projects throughout the community. By strategically deploying technology, the city can achieve its long-term goals of improving transportation for residents.
